Priests provide wisdom for members of the community and have a special place in society. They preside over baptisms and weddings, and are a source of philosophical education. Priests are in charge of ensuring that religious occasions and events are observed, as well as performing the final rites to the dying.
Level 1 – Faith Scholar
You are a student of religion and one dedicated to philosophy. Long days are spent at the church reading core texts and praying.

Level 2 – Doorkeeper
As an assistant to the clergy, you usher parishioners as they enter and exit the church. It is your job to maintain a positive attitude to welcome all who wish to attend service.

Level 3 – Acolyte
You are an altar server, one who assists by carrying a processional cross, lighting candles, and holding the holy book and torches during worship. Down the aisles you can be seen swinging a censer or thurible, carrying the incense boat, or handing out offerings to ushers. You may also be expected to assist a deacon or priest set up and clean up at the altar.

Level 4 – Lector
Working your way up to the clergy, as a Lector you read sacred texts, apart from the holy book, during worship. You are up to date on all readings and sermons planned by your priest, and you know when to offer assistance during services of all kinds. A Lector is licensed to lead non-sacramental worship (including, in some cases, funerals) and may assist in the leadership of sacred text study.

Branch 1: Clergy
The formal leaders of the religious institution. Cleric’s roles and functions involve presiding over specific rituals and teaching religious doctrines and practices. Reading and writing are taught to all members of the clergy.
Level 5 – Deacon
You are a minister of your religion, a servant to your divinity, and fulfill pastoral and administrative duties correlating to the church. During service, the Deacon’s responsibilities include assisting the priest, proclaiming the sacred text, announcing the General Intercessions, and distributing Communion. You may also preach the homily. As clerics, Deacons are required to pray. You may also be asked to perform baptisms, lead funeral rites, and preside over weddings.

Level 6 – Bishop
As a Bishop, you now possess full priesthood and can ordain Clergy. You preside over the altar and lead services. Bishops perform confirmations and administer communion, as well as oversee all spiritual affairs of the church.

Level 7 – Archbishop
You have been hand-picked by the Pope, whom you work directly under, implementing the rules decided by their greatness. You are now addressed as “Your Grace” and “Most Reverend.” Archbishops have jurisdiction over Bishops and carry the highest rank in religious Clergy, directly below the Pope.

Level 8 – Pope
Holy moly! As the Pope, you hold the supreme most position in the church’s hierarchy. You occupy a position of respect, power and importance, influencing all the land. Your duty to preach to the people is of the highest degree of virtue. The Pope helps spread religion and intervene to resolve doctrinal disputes. In this holy position, you supervise all religious activities and make all the important decisions.

Objectives: Convince a Sim to Do Something, Host 50 Social Events, Max Charisma Skill to Level 10.
Branch 2: Jacoban Priest
The priest of the Jacoban faith. Being the head of the cathedral, Jacoban priests can absolve Jacoban Sims of sins, comforting the Sims by giving them The Watcher’s Absolution.
Jacoban priests are deeply attuned to their deity, Jacob. They can use their touch to heal and grant Protection of the Watcher. Instead of praying, Jacoban priests focus themselves by reflecting on the Watcher. They can sacrifice their energy to bestow the Watcher’s Blessing on another Sim. Jacoban priests can also consecrate water.
Unlike Peteran priests, Jacoban priests don’t write with the Watcher or evangelize in informal public sermons, but can nail various proclamations to the proclamation board outside the cathedral to alter the level of fear and change the behavior of Jacobans.
Level 5 – Shepherd
As a Shepherd of the Jacoban faith, you may sermonize at the pulpit, absolve Sims of sin, and convert others to your faith.

Level 6 – High Shepherd
A step above a simple Shepherd, you may now bestow the Watcher’s Blessing on fellow Jacobans, post Proclamations, and reflect on the Watcher during work hours.

Objectives: Reach Level 5 Charisma Skill, Reach Level 3 Research & Debate Skill.
Level 7 – Eye of Jacob
You lead the Jacoban faith and preach the word of Jacob himself, as it is you whom he whispers the rules and guidelines to follow. Your sermons are persuasive and moving, so much so that they can influence others in the land.

Shift: 7:00 am – 3:00 pm,
Objectives: Reach Level 7 Charisma Skill, Reach Level 5 Research & Debate Skill, Convince a Sim to Do Something.
Branch 3: Peteran Priest
The priest of the Peteran faith. Being the head of the monastery, it is the Peteran priest’s job to conduct multiple sermons a day. One must be popular with the audience, as a Peteran priest earns donations to the monastery from parishioners after every sermon.
Peteran priests are very studious and spend much time pouring over the sacred texts. With a tendency toward Evangelism, priests are under pressure to spread certain messages dependent on their relationship with the current monarchy.
Level 5 – Friar
The Friar spends most hours of the day studying the sacred texts and praying. You must possess a warm attitude with all Sims you encounter in hopes of converting them to the Peteran faith.

Objectives: Practice Writing for 3 Hours, Reach Level 4 Charisma Skill, Reach Level 4 Research & Debate Skill.
Level 6 – Prior
A step above the Friar, you may conduct sermons based on the sacred texts you have studied. Sims will gather at the pulpit to hear your words of wisdom, but be careful, because Priors have a tendency toward Evangelism.

Level 7 – Abbot
You are the leader of the Peteran faith and have a strong influence over tactical strategies in war, the tax system, and the rules of the land. Dependent on your relationship with the current monarchy, you can sermonize for good or for your own personal agenda.
